Breakfast Refuels Us and Sets Us Up for the Day

Mannatech’s Breakfast With the Heros

Busy people – no matter what their age – need quality food to fuel their day. A great daily breakfast should include wholegrain carbohydrates for energy and protein for bulk. It must be low in fat for optimum health. A great breakfast must refuel your body after your night’s fast and help prepare you for your day of activity. People who skip breakfast are more likely to eat higher calorie food when hunger pangs strike. Quite often, breakfast dodgers have poorer concentration and higher body weight than people who begin the day well by eating a balanced, healthy, low fat breakfast. Breakfast does not have to be a three-hour cook-up. Quick, easy and nutritious breakfast options can be as simple as a glass of milk, liquid breakfast drink - like Mannatech’s GlycoLEAN® - or even a piece of fruit or two. Read on for some brilliant breakfast ideas from some true Australian and New Zealand Team Mannatech sports heroes.

Tatiana Grigorieva
World pole vault hero, Olympic silver and Commonwealth gold medallist, Tatiana was in training for the 2006 Commonwealth Games as this brochure went to press. In 2004, she won the last International women’s pole vaulting competition of the year in Japan in a countback from USA’s Jillian Schwarz. The big win means that Tatiana retained her ‘All Comers’ record for the event set in 2001. More recently, she jumped 4.30m – her second Commonwealth Games A qualifier – during the major comp in Italy. After this, Tatiana headed to the first ever Grand Prix Athletics in Shanghai where she again jumped 4.30m.

"I always start the day with a healthy breakfast because it gives me the energy I need to get through my busy schedule. In summer, I have freshly squeezed fruit juice and a fruit salad with
natural yoghurt. In winter, I enjoy oats with nuts, raisins and milk with fresh fruit."
